Volume jumps when scene changes

Postby xera » 24 May 2016 17:55

Hi everyone

Sometimes while playing, VLC adjusts the volume of a video, and I don't know why. It always happens at the same points in a video. Unfortunately, no settings I modified (including dynamic range compression, output module and peak protection) changed that behaviour, even resetting to default settings or installing an older version didn't help.
Also, this volume change only occurs in VLC, it doesn't happen in Windows Media Player or the Movies & TV app. Is there a significant difference in how these programs handle audio? Can I force VLC to play back the audio unaltered, ignoring all settings? Or does anyone have other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

VLC is not supposed to change the volume without solicitation. Without clarity on when, how and why this happens, it's impossible to answer your question.
