FC3 ffmpeg not found

Hello.
I am trying to get VLC 0.8.2. on FC3 to stream audio and am having major problems. Its a fresh FC3 install and i updated all the yum config files so it finds all the RPMs to install VLC. It appears to install fine, everything passes, no errors or warnings.
Problem is i get an error while running this command:

Or in-fact any command.
The pc im streaming to (192.168.44.24) has VLC on and is listening.

so it all looks good up-untill ffmpeg, which YUM tells me is installed.
Is there a config file pointing VLC to the location of ffmpeg?
Or could it be another problem?
Your help would be great as i've been stuck on this for almost a week.

i have almost the same problem. also crying about ffmpeg. can't disable it nither.
