Slow/crash network stream.

With the latest version 2.2.2 i'm having problems ( crash hanging not responding videos ) with playing all video's.
Whereas with the version 2.1.4 i'm not having problems, is playing fast and doesn't crash.

Situation: AFP / Netatalk / Avahi share from an Ubuntu Server 16.04.
Files: Any MP4, WMV, MKV, AVI
Local: Mac OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan - Macbook Pro 2014 - Core i7

Latest version is hanging, older version works fast and haves no problem.
Note: Both VLC's sharing the same preferences. :o

Are you having to force quit VLC when it hangs. If so, please include the crash log that gets produced.
Providing logs, messages, configuration info (VLC, OS, Hardware) and a clear explanation of the issue always helps the problem solvers help you, even if they don't end up solving the issue. Just think what you would need if you were solving someone else's problem. Additional: Always looking for eager and capable MacOS X developers to join the VLC team - for more information see here.
