Trouble with v4l / no sound

Configuration

Debian 2.4.26 dvb driver 1.1.1
VLC media player 0.8.2-svn Janus
DVB Card TT 1.6 fullfeatured

Commandline

Result is video on client, but no sound. sound system is alsa. alsa is working. I read a lot here in the forum

- v4lctl volume mute off" did not help

I dont know if there is a solution, so I connected output from DVB Card to Input from Soundcard, sound is now available in Soundcard, but how can I integrate this sound into the commandline ......

In annother thread was a sample with arecord

arecord -fcd | vlc - :quit --sout '#transcode{acodec=mp3,ab=192}:std{access=rtp,url=192.168.100.110,mux=ts}' --intf dummy

With this sample i have audio, but no video ......

Is there a solution under linux ???

really no solution ?

In this case wouldn`t it be better to provide vlc with a more flexible input mecanism. One input for sound, one input for video, or if only one source is specified take audio and video from that source.

Thanks for your answer, but this is not the problem. I have sound with vlc (playing files/streams etc). In the sample:

I tried to stream video and sound from the v4l interface. There is no sound in that stream !
