I'm a novice with VLC media player. We suddenly have a need to stream video and audio to a remote location at our church for overflow seating for a funeral that is larger than we've hosted before. I've used VLC internally at work a bit to stream RTSP to a client running VLC to view the stream. It always kind of works but with poor frame rates and 1 second of delay in audio, I suspect because, being a novice, I don't know all of the tweaks that can be done to vastly improve the quality of the stream.
I'd like to put a laptop in the funeral with a USB webcam running VLC and encoding the stream to serve out of the laptop. Then I'll have a laptop on the remote location also on the LAN to connect to the stream. I'd like to do 720p video and audio with around 30fps.
Can someone point me to a howto for the various check boxes and preferences in the GUI with the "right" settings to do what I'd need?
Thanks in advance.
