Simple Streaming Help Question

Postby kevinpoirier712 » 22 Jan 2016 22:43

Hi everyone,

I am new here. I have a Macbook Air that I usually plug up to my television and stream videos from VLC. However, I also have the new Apple TV and know that there is a VLC app for the Apple TV.

I have just spent an hour googling and trying to figure out how to basically "Stream" or "cast" videos from my macbook air to the tv but for the life of me, I couldn't figure it out.

DO I use the "Local network" , "remote playback", or "network stream."

Is there a step by step guide to get me set up here?

Thanks so much!
-Kevin

Remote Playback should do it. Open the website indicated on the TV and drop a file. It will play on the TV :)

Alternatively, enable File Sharing on your Mac (see System Preferences) and your Mac will appear in the "Local Network" section for you to login and play contents directly.
