VLC Record option skips first few seconds

Postby PitchR » 22 Dec 2015 07:51

This problem started just today and I've no idea how to go about fixing it. When I use VLC's record option, the output video will play the sound but it won't show the video for a few seconds (3-5 seconds). It then continues to play perfectly fine after that. Anybody have any idea how to go about repairing this?

Here's an example video of what I mean: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/724 ... 6.flv-.mp4

I was able to figure out what was wrong, but now I've got another problem. Similar in a way, too. Every time I want to record a section the record option will completely skip the first 2 or so seconds and begin the footage as if I've started recording later. Is this a feature? Any suggestions on how to go about fixing it or do I have to record much earlier in order to get the footage I want?

I appreciate any help, thanks.

I have been having the same skip issue for the first few seconds before the video will play also. You mentioned that you figured it out. Could you share your fix so I can try it. Thanks!
