Problem installing the prebuilt ios binary (ipa) from the website

Postby Dmitry99 » 23 Dec 2015 09:47

I downloaded and attempted to install http://get.videolan.org/vlc-iOS/2.7.0/vlc-ios-2.7.0.ipa , however as with the 2.6.6 ipa my iPhone tells me that the ""VLC" Beta Has Expired" . I suspect this has something to do with certificates. Is it possible to use this ipa? Has someone successfully installed it? If so how?

You should get the app from the store. The ipa provided on our website will run on hacked devices only.

My device is jailbroken so I did expect it to install just fine. Is it true that if compiled from sources we can enable the AC3 codec? I was hoping this was the case and that the ipa on the website is such a binary.

Using ios-app-signer I was eventually (with a bit of further Info.plist editing) able to install the ipa, but found that AC3 is not supported and eventually it crashed and never loaded successfully again.
