video effects adjusted & saved

Postby alpinestars69 » 03 Dec 2015 11:14

is it possible to adjust a video's brightness/color/hue etc. & have them remain that way every time you watch the clip. i have videos taken snow skiing & some are to bright some need color & it would be so nice not to have to adjust every time you watch them. 2.0.3 is my vlc & 10.6.8 is my mac

thanks

We don't support per-clip settings, only general ones.

Further, you should update your installation of VLC - your version is more than 2 years old ;)

You can save video settings in a new profile. This is not per media file, but might still help you a bit.

Look at the video effects panel, where you have a profile list on the bottom. Just duplicate the "Default" profile, and make your changes as desired.

Thank you for answering - but I can't find it yet. Which panel do you mean? Do I miss something?

I have looked at "tools - preferencies - video --" and at "tools - effects and filters - video effects"
- but I see no profile or list or any option to save
(there is an option "write chnges to config" but only for the "audio effects" tab, not at the video tab..)
Would you describe the way to the profiles step by step, for a blind man like me?

PS I think I saw such an option in the video effects long time ago.. could it be that this feature is missing in version 2.2.1 ??

There is no "Tools" menu in the Mac user interface. Note that this is the OS X subforum, not the Windows one... ;-)

Yes I have windows... but was hoping you could show me the way to these profiles anyway...
Assuming that this is not a "mac only" option.

It is a Mac-only thing.
