Apple lightning AV Adaptor - playing resolution

Hi,

I'm considering buying this adaptor.

But first i need to be sure if VLC will play movies in full format on the tv (like apple store does) ?

If the screen of the ipad for example is mirrored it will be in 4:3

Hello,

VLC will detect the external screen at its full size and play the video accordingly. So if you connect your 4:3 iPad to a 16:10 Full HD TV, a 16:9 video will be played without black bars on the left and right and fully fill the entire 16:10 screen. When playing on an external screen, all the video effects available on the internal screen will be applied on the video playing on the external one.

Further, VLC will use the AV Adaptor's HDMI plug also for audio output if you configure the system audio accordingly.
