Unix socket command input doesn't create file osx 10.10.5

Postby LuukS » 28 Aug 2015 21:18

Hello,

I want to script a program to control VLC through remote control with a socket. In the preferences tab under interface I can set a directory to create a socket file, vlc.sock in my case. This works perfectly on my old mac with os x 10.6.8, but on my newer mac with os x 10.10.5 no socket file appears.... Does anyone know why, and how I could fix this?

Thank you very much!!
Luuk

Found the solution: it seemed like there was no file because in os x 10.10.3 the vlc.sock file is not visible, even with hidden files shown (probably because it is 0 bytes)
