Skipping After Pressing Play

Postby seekayco » 01 Jun 2015 23:28

I'm running VLC on my Mac (Yosemite 10.10.3). I've been using VLC for a few years now without problems, but within the last month or two every time I press play on an audio file it skips around the 2 second mark. Every. Single. Time. If I rewind it immediately after hitting play it doesn't skip, and if I rewind instead of pausing/play it doesn't skip.

I use VLC to transcribe, so I'm pausing/playing frequently and this is getting to be pretty frustrating and time consuming. Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I can fix it? I haven't been able to find any posts/threads about this particular problem. Thanks in advance.

Resetting the preferences did not help.

I use VLC to transcribe
How do you do this? Play/Pause just in software, or do you use any additional hardware?
