Configuration/Preferences Manager?

Being the config nightmare that VLC is - wouldn't it be nice to have a configuration manager that makes it easy to switch between different configs, save, name, etc, them?

I do a lot of switching between home use, single screen/dual screen, OSD, etc. for festivals and festival preparations, and it's really challenging to set all necessary options over and over again, hopefully not forgetting an important one. I know I can access system specific preference files, copy/renam, etc., but I still think a golbal config manager would be nice. And no, I'm not talking about skins only.
