won't play stream

I have Windows7, VLC 2.0.1. Open player, click media, click Open Network Stream, type in a web address i.e.: http://motorsport49.blogspot.com/2012/0 ... -7_31.html or with www., click play and it just goes to the playlist page and clicking play there does nothing. Same with my XP PC but it goes to the black screen with the traffic cone and no play. I can play files. What am I missing or what's wrong?

You need direct URL to the video file/stream, or you have to write a LUA parser for that page. VLC cannot automatically parse HTML and locate the URL for the video.

I have tried various ways including url snooper and nothing I input will make it play.
