Delaying stream

Postby clashcityrocker » 09 May 2015 16:45

Hi, I am trying to transcode a stream from my DVB card using VideoLan and I have it working well, however I want to introduce a 20 second delay to the stream (as I am syncing it up with a radio broadcast). Is this possible?

there is mention of a delay parameter here, https://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation ... ine/#delay But I don't use a display, as I am transcoding.

and here is what I am using to transcode.

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" -Idummy --no-sub-autodetect --verbose=0 --dummy-quiet --no-stats --sout-transcode-threads=8 "http://127.0.0.1:7522/transcode/channelstream/2.ts?id=127.0.0.1" :sout=#transcode{acodec=vorbis,ab=256,channels=1,vcodec=VP80,vb=3072,scale=1.00,deinterlace}:http{mux="ffmpeg{mux=webm}",dst=0.0.0.0:3335/}
Many Thanks.

With UDP output there is a caching option, but maybe you need http.
Did you try setting the buffer on the incoming stream? Something like "--file-caching=20000"
