First thing: you can add more columns by right clicking on the column bar in playlist view.
But what i think is more important to discuss is the way VLC handles playlists. The only possibility is to save the current playlist into a file and then reopen the file to edit the playlist. This is very uncomfortable when dealing with a big amount of playlists. I really like VLC for supporting an easy to edit format like .xspf, because i use python scripts for automatic playlist generation.
But when dealing with manual editing VLC is really horrible.
I whish you could save the paylists files internally so that they are shown in the left overview bar, where the library and the playlist is located. This is supported in common players like the windows media player, itunes, amarok or the new tomahawk. But i think VLC could be much stronger than those if it would support basic playlist creation and editing. I wonder why it was not implemented a long time ago, i can't be the only one looking for this O.o ...
