Audio starts 5 seconds after video WMV/WMA

Hi all,

I've been a long time user of VLC Media Player and I've never had any trouble with it. I usually watch MP4 and MKV files on it, but recently I've been trying to watch some WMV videos that my friend has made with Sony Vegas.

I've heard that VLC has had problems with WMV files for a while but I can't find any answers to this particular issue. The problem is that it won't play the audio until 5 seconds after the video starts... I know it's not an issue with the actual files I am playing because I've tried them with 3 other media players and they all work fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been using VLC to play all my video and music files for a very long time, I hope someone can provide a solution so I can use VLC for these files as well.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts (use the default ones) and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

50 MB max should be enough.

Ok, I've posted the info below. Also, I hope it's ok but instead of cutting out a small sample and uploading myself, I just got one of the download links that were already available on his site. OK, it is indeed broken in 2.2.0 and earlier.

We fixed it in 3.0.0, as far as I can see.
