Info Problem When Playing .wav Files

Postby Person Dude » 24 Apr 2015 06:08

Hey y'all, this is my first ever post on here and I've got a little bit of a problem. Normally when playing mp3 and FLAC files the playlist displays the song title, artist, album and all the info that's usually on the file. However, when I play .wav files the VLC playlist only displays something like, "song title.wav" even though the all the info is on the file. I did a bit of lurking, but nothing was really tailored to my specific problem. That said, do any of you know how to fix this?

The playlist is displaying the tags embedded inside the files, but tagged WAV files are quite uncommon though.
It's doable but you'd better convert them to FLAC, for instance, you'll save disc space and the tags can be read by any serious player.

That seems to have done the trick. MediaMonkey is a really good converter and it can rip CDs to FLAC directly unlike Windows Media Player. The only problem is that every time I open it, it makes itself into the default player and I have to go back into the VLC interface and make it the default again. Aside from that, it totally works. Thanks for the help! :D

EDIT: Fixed that problem too, so this setup is now literally perfect!
