EDIT: Of course the morning after posting I see a sticky and click for the speed slider. But no, I had to click submit post and sleep the night first. Gonna remove this edit in case the slider isn't enough.
<boring backstory>
I usually have 1-2 open source media players installed on my computers, first choice being VLC and backup some mplayer frontend, can't remember a case where I couldn't play a file, it just works. Now I tried to get someone else to use it because I was sick of their "This file won't work in my player" problems. I know that VLC speed control is done with hotkeys/buttons for increasing and decreasing playback speed but the person in question is used to a PowerDVD version which tries to imitate real world player devices and offers some kind of wheel for analogue-like speed control.
</boring backstory>
Is there a skin or plugin for VLC that makes it possible to control the playback speed by turning some kind of analogue wheel in the UI? Not sure if it's the exactly correct PowerDVD version but this is what it looks like: https://imgur.com/BfOJ02M (Silver ring around play and the blue buttons)
If not, is it possible to do such a thing in a skin or would you estimate the necessary coding for a plugin to be above beginner level C?
