No De-Interlacing with uncompressed sources?

No De-Interlacing with uncompressed sources?

Postby Gubel » 04 Apr 2015 13:31

Hello!

I'm wondering about the following problem:

While playing uncompressed (YUV-)Sources, e.g. RAW-captured AVI files (YUY2, UYVY, ...) or DirectShow Live-Devices like video-input-cards, no De-Iterlacing is possible.
Whatever de-interlacing mode is selected (yadif 2x for example), it takes no effect...

Is there any workaround?

Thanks!

Best regards from Germany...
Alex

Capture in I420. Most filters do not work on YUY2.

Interesting!

The Problem is, that I'm using a Blackmagic Design Intensity-Card as HDMI-Capture-Interface (and analog sources via Panasonic DVD-Recorder HDMI-Out). This Card delivers ONLY "UYVY" 4:2:2...
I also like to preview RAW-Captures before compressing WITH yadif-deinterlacing...

For traveling I'm using a "Terratec T-Stick Video" for DVB-T, that has also a pretty good A/D-Section, that I'm using for Analog-TV from Cable-TV in hotels etc. if there's no DVB-T - and I want to use VLC as Analog-TV-Player (because it seems like there's noting better). This Stick also delivers only UYVY 4:2:2... :?

Is there really NO way to get it work? Any internal I420-conversion?

For RAW-captures, the ffdshow-tryouts decoder for DirectShow (via other media players) also doesn't work with uncompressed sources...

Hmm....
