So far, I do have not sensed any volunteer or sponsor to implement the missing support.
With that in mind, I agree that the mouse would often be more convenient. But I do not think it is worth sticking to 2.0.8 with all its unfixed bugs, security issues and unsupported "new" formats and codecs?
