Stream audio to external device (HEOS 3) while watching the video on the PC...?

Hi all

I love VLC, as you all. Reasons? Well... it's obvious. The player with the most features out there.

The problem is sometimes it has so many features so you end up like me, not knowing if something is not doable or you simply don't know how to do it.

The case: Playing a video on my computer while the sound is streamed to an external device. In my case, the Denon HEOS 3.

So first question. Is this doable?

And the second is... in case it is, does anyone know how to do it? I've spent hours searching online and I have found nothing

You can stream audio and play video with the command line, but you will intrinsically loose synchronization between audio and video. So it is not really useful.
