Where are the developers at?!

This forum has so little activity, it could be argued it is dead!
This is the official forum for VLC media player right?
So where are the people in charge of bringing out new updates? The developers solving the bugs and issues we report on this forum?
Is it still worth my effort to voice my experiences with VLC or has everyone walked away?

Yes I realize it is an open source project, so it requires volunteers with spare time, but at this rate, how can VLC possibly compete with other media players if nothing is currently happening?
