Transcoding from AAC to MP3

Postby Guest » 22 Feb 2004 10:00

Hi! I am trying to transcode audio files from AAC to MP3, but I haven't been able to figure out how to. I'm running .7.1-test1 on Windows XP Pro.

I'm just looking for a way to output the AAC files to MP3 files so that I can burn them to CD for my discman.

VLC can't do that currently.

Anyway, I'm sure there are other tools which are better suited to the task. Have a look at http://www.doom9.org and especially the BeSweet program.

dBpowerAMP doesn't support AAC.
Yes it does, for a long time actually... You can even choose between FAAC or PsyTEL codecs now for encoding, and AAC/MP4 decoding works with FAAD2 of course. So it's a good alternative, but I would rather recommend the latest foobar2000 v0.8 beta 10, because you have even more choices for transcoding, diskwriting, encoding, decoding etc.:
