RealTime

Postby wsblurch » 28 Oct 2005 11:10

Hi Forum,
I've tried for several days to Stream a live video (grabbed by Hauppauge)over 100mbps LAN. My problem is, that there is always a delay of one second.
My question: Is it generally possible to stream in realtime with VLC? It's important to know before spending money in a new grabber card.

I hope somebody has tried it with succes.

Thanks Tobi

Hello,

By tweaking misc caching parameters in VLC, you can reach a 400-500ms delay, but VLC is not really designed for very low latency streaming, and you won't really be able to have less than that.
