Allow only Mozilla plugin installation for 32 bit

Postby yuecns2dmif70ql7d2pk » 24 Dec 2014 20:18

Hello,

Since Firefox will not be coming out anytime soon with a 64bit version, and I am running a 64 bit machine, it would be nice to have only the 32 bit plugin installed (with all the support files necessary) and not have the media player installed.. then I could install the 64 bit player for everything else, including IE plugin and general use.

Right now the entire media player is also installed, including any shortcuts and file associations...

Sorry, it's not doable. You can disable the shortcuts and extension in the installer.

Am I missing something, because I usually just download the .xpi (Firefox add-on) from the win64 folder on the VLC FTP site. I believe it's a different size then the add-on in the Win32 folder, and the almost released 2.2 includes it in the add-on install files name: vlc-2.2.0-rc2-win64.xpi
...?
