Picture is small square in middle of screen

Low tech user so please bear that in mind :oops:

Your help please.

This is what I see when I play mp4 or avi files. windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. How do I fix this?

What's the resolution of the video? Do you have "MediaInfo" on your computer to tell you that? What happens when you set VLC to a specific aspect ratio instead of "default"?

That is the expected behaviour is you disable automatic scaling.

This is the result I get with various different files, but for the file used in the photo grab
"Video Codec - Xvid 905kb/s 23fps 704x384"

I couldn't find that in the menus, where to I find auto scaling?
