Plugins LGPL only

Postby superbem » 20 Oct 2014 18:54

Hi,

I'm developing a software closed source for now.

Can I distribute my software with the vlc core libs along with the plugins dir?
As I understand, not all of the plugins are LGPL.

If I can't distribute them all with my software, can I distribute with only this ones?
(The ones my software use)

libavcodec_plugin.dll
libdxva2_plugin.dll
libdirect3d_plugin.dll
libdrawable_plugin.dll
libdirectsound_plugin.dll
libfilesystem_plugin.dll
libdolby_surround_decoder_plugin.dll
libsimple_channel_mixer_plugin.dll
libsubsdec_plugin.dll
libxml_plugin.dll
libsubtitle_plugin.dll
libfreetype_plugin.dll

Thanks

After some research I found that libavcodec can be LGPL or GPL depending the build. Is this vlc plugin LGPL or GPL? If it is GPL, where can I find an LGPL one?

libdolby_surround_decoder_plugin.dll is not LGPL.
libavcodec is LGPL.
