VLC can't play DVD

Hi ,

I try to play a dvd from VLC , the first bug i find is that when you type
dvd://
nothing happens.

I must type where i mount the dvd , when i type this , i get this error :

I had a similair problem - I'm running Ubuntu Breezy. I can suggest something that may direct vlc to the right place for your dvd drive, however I'm still having problems of another sort (see below).

Re your problem however, I believe you may need to manually set the dvd location to "/dev/dvd when you try to open the disk e.g. go to File -> Open Disc, then from the Disc tab type. Check the Media Resource Locator field - it probably contains "dvd//". Try changing this to "/dev/dvd". This prompted VLC to look in the right place for me. Hope this works.

Note: I'm still unable to watch DVDs via VLC. When I try, using the above, vlc starts trying to decrypt the dvd, then ends with an error message

"libdvdnav: Suspected RCE Region Protection!!!
Segmentation fault"
