DVD Subtitles (spu)

What encoding should be selected under Tools->preferences->Subtitles / OSD for the DVD Subtitles (spu) to show?

I have tried all that are available but none works, i.e, there is no subtitle shown when the video is played. DVD Subtitles (spu) is what is listed as the Codec for the Subtitle Stream under the Codec tab in the Codec Information dialogue window. Please help. Thank you.

DVD subtitles are pictures, not text. The text encoding parameter has no effects.

Select the right subtitle track in the menu.

Remi, I don't know how you could say it worked fine without playing the video I am having problem with. I really think there may be some setting issues that cause the problem but I am not knowledgeable/technical enough to tell. Can you think of a scenario that can possibly cause the spu subtitle not being seen? Please help.

Is it the problem of one DVD or all various DVDs?
