[Solved] Extreme artifacts/loading time online videos

Postby Fredo_p » 17 Aug 2014 03:15

Watching videos online has become impossible. While accessing the mobile version of a site, on the previous version of VLS, I was able to load and watch videos. Rarely would I see any graphic artifacts or delays in loading. With the current version, the video loads the first second, displays the image, then freezes on that second/image. After 15+ seconds, the video continues. However, as the video starts again, it experiences extreme artifacts.

I've tried going thru all the settings to see if anything would change (acceleration, deblocking, etc) but have had to results. Are there any codecs that I may need to install? I am able to watch the videos from the website using MXPlayer and the default Android video player.

Have you tried increasing the network caching setting?

Right now it's set to "Default"/blank. What would be a good step-value to use when increasing the Net Cache?

Okay. I'll try it now. I did 1000 and 2000 last night.

I got maybe 2 seconds to load and play before it force closed/crashed.

3000 also took about 30+ seconds before the first few seconds started. Then it froze and closed. This wasn't an issue in the previous version, but I did see some artifacts every once and a while. All settings had been at default at the time.

Alrighty, with the latest android update, I was able to view an episode. However, I ran into an issue with my ISP and the network speed was causing some bad artifacts due to the extremely slow download speeds. I'm going to try again and see if the artifacts have truly left cause my speeds are back to normal.

Just want to confirm that the latest VLC for Android update has fixed the issue. I was able to access the website, select the video to watch, and scroll through without any artifacts or buffer issues.

I also tested it by viewing an 720 HD video that I recorded and also had no artifact or audio delay issues as well.
