vevo videos not working again...

...sorry about that. I was fearing that it was "about time" for YouTube to eff me over again.

Good news tho: Pierre Ynard (a VLC dev) has made some great changes (almost a month ago now) to VLC's default YouTube.lua, which will hopefully put an end to these frequent updates. I have no idea what version of VLC that will be included in (or if it might've already made it into some version).

But for my version, however, I need to compare his version with my version & merge them (my version still does some things the default version don't). Right now, I think I'm just gonna release another "quick patch", to get my version working, then I'll re-merge with VLC's version later.

Update: I've re-synced my version with VLC's Git version...

I'm getting the error

ever since youtube removed the 200 videos limit on playlist, vlc playlist loader seems broken. loads only about 80 videos when there are more than 200 on the playlist.
please help

YT vids have stopped playing for me in VLC 2.1.5 portable (32 or 64 bit ver) in Vista x64.

If you just want a confirmation, I can give it to you.
Yes, the procedure explained in https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... be#p379147 is the good one, except that the link given in the post is no more valid. Just do the same with the new link (http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=bl ... ua;hb=HEAD) which actually points to the most recent version of the file in the VLC git repository.
To use the link, either follow it and copy the text as you suggested or right click on it and select "save link as".

I recently wrote a little project that involved playing youtube links in vlc, and after downloading the latest version of youtube.lua from the git repository everything was running great. Until today. Now only 10% of links are working correctly. I suspect youtube pulled the rug out again, and I'm bumping this thread in the hope of an update or workaround. I'd rather not change my project to use web elements, but I'll do it if it's the only way to keep my project working reliably.

Once again, the file youtube.lua has been updated on the git repository: http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=bl ... ua;hb=HEAD.
Save this file as youtube.lua in the right directory (/usr/lib/vlc/lua/playlist/ on Linux, C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\playlist\ on Windows), delete the youtube.luac file that must be there, and it should work again!

I have no problem with both videos, but I'm using a nightly build.
With VLC 2.1.5, I have no problem either. Maybe just try to reinstall your version. Or tell us more about your configuration.
