How to reset to defaults VLC 2.1.x

Over the last two hours I have been trying to configure the toolbar, but all in vain.

The toolbar does not change, regretfully so.

How am I supposed to setup the toolbar?

The below is just ONE example, out of I-don't-know-how-many.



Bottomline, maybe when I restore to defaults things are 'reset' again?

But how?

Windows 7 x64

VLC is installed on F:\
There are 3 files in VLC on C:\ (only VLC-folder on C)

tools --> prefs --> reset

Later, a while after writing the above, I went on to delete the contents of the VLC folder.
I think that solved a part. The 'Advanced Controls' - I wasn't aware of that.
Am just using VLC as it is... -> 'newbie-level'
