how to populate media library?

a simple question - how do i populate the VLC media library with all my recordings? permanently.

I do not want 'playlists' as such. just want to click on 'media library' and see all the recordings / songs i have on my PC and external harddrive in comprehensive titled list.

i am asking this cos i like VLC, and i am fed up with my windows media player.

at present, the VLC media library is blank.

yes i can open folders and then play them, but i would like to somehow collect all my media folders and have them in a full list in the VLC media.

please advise. i have googled for this answer and didnt come up with anything. i guess i should go read the manual.

Then fill your library, from the playlist with drag and drop to the media library.
