black screen no picture

I am getting sound but no picture. My screen is black. My computer seems to be OK as it was able to play a movie with Dell Media Player. I have tried resetting the settings but nothing changed, still a black screen where the movie should be. I hope someone can help me. Thanks for your time. Lee

1024*768 16 bit OK-- 800*600 24 bit OK --but 1024*768 24 bit ,thats the problem Good luck....
