Bitrate confusion?

Postby Jewjitsu » 23 Apr 2014 06:15

So I usually use VLC to play my music just because of the ease of use and all of the many features. I specifically love the amount of depth put into the information and just how much you can see and change. However I looked at one of my song's information to find the Bitrate, and there were several different ones, all with different values! Would someone please explain this to me? Thanks in advance.

well, in a video such as say, MKV, you can have multiple video/audio/sub tracks. typically an audio file has one audio track but maybe things have changed. what is the file extension?

This is also possible with VBR (variable bitrate)
