Automating VLC

Hi All, I operate a Low Power, FCC Part 15, AM Radio Station. Is there a way to "automate" VLC to change to a specific URL, which has my network feed, at a specific time of day and day of week? In looking around the VLC community, it sounds like maybe lua is one way to do it? Not being a programmer, and not being familiar with lua, is there any other way to do this type of automation? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Or if anyone knows how to write this type of lua script, maybe you would be willing to help? Thanks.

This might be possible without scripting with a Task Scheduler and some carefully chosen command-line argument(s) (e.g. the --one-instance plus the desired stream URL).

Exactly the same feature I was looking for.
Not sure about Task Scheduler
but really need examples of VLC Command Line Interface scripts
just to broadcast preselected, specified audio files at given time, date.

Any idea ?

It looks like Winamp offered full automation.
