Q: How to resume shuffled playlist where last left off.

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Q: How to resume shuffled playlist where last left off.

Like the title stated, How do you resume a shuffled playlist where it was last left off. Or if its even possible.
I tried to go through the settings in VLC player but I could find anything.

Scenario; I have multiple seasons/episodes of a TV series. I want to watch the videos in random order, making it feel like watching cable. The "shuffle" option does a great job at this, however I would like to continue where the playlist left off. Avoiding "re-runs" of an episode I just recently watched. At the moment every time I open the saved playlist it starts at a random video.

Nothing of dire urgency, just wondering if its possible, thanks!

You might just see an episode before another one that way causing there to be spoilers, however that's all up to you.
The thing I do to avoid re-runs of episodes is deleting the video(s) I watched from the playlist and save the playlisy when I'm about to close vlc, that way it resumes where I left off.
This is probably not the official way to do it, but it works for me.
Hope it helps!
