High Frame Rate movies Correct SEtting help? Jumpy/laggy

Postby dinglesniff » 01 Mar 2014 04:56

So I am on a quest to play movies at 60FPS and play movies like the Hobbit that are shot at 60FPS.

When I play movies such the one below I recieve a lot of lag and skipoed frames. I assume I have a setting incorrect since I am on a power house of a machine with 2 EVGA Titans in SLI 4 30monitors and clocked at 4.4ghz.

I used the Desolation of Smaug trailer at 60FPS as an example

I put the log file here:

I have tried using SPV which works fine on other players, but I prefer to stay with VLC. Any idea how I can A. fix my settings B. play movies at 60FPS?

Try another video output module:

And/or disable/enable GPU acceleration:

You can also try to enable or disable some video options such as Overlay and/or Hardware YUV -> RGB conversions.

I found that videos with high frames rates play more smoothly when the video output module is set to DirectX.
