Coverflow

Postby phanam » 28 Feb 2014 11:14

Greetings :) !

Just a short question .. is the coverflow view for playlists not implemented in the OSX version of VLC yet? Couldn't find a way to turn it on and it isn't mentioned in this forum so far ..

If it is not implemented, is the implementation planned along the road?

Thx in advance!

Hello,

No, there is no Coverflow view mode in VLC for Mac so far and there are no plans to add it for now, since the available spare time of 2 volunteers to is too small right now to shift attention to it. Help would be welcome! and yes, this since certainly something we have on our mind for future releases… :)

Thank you very much for the clarification :) !

I find this functionality very important as quicklook doesn't work for "legacy codecs" anymore since Mavericks. Perian has been abandoned, Apple has shifted from QTKit to AVKit. Thus, there is at the moment no way of previewing a directory of video files in OSX under 10.9. Coverflow in VLC would be a dream as it would render the whole AVKit/QTKit debacle obsolete ;)
