More Speed Control

I would like to see more speed controls. At the moment the custom speed settings have large jumps in step increase, it goes from like 1.00 to 1.04 to 1.09 to 1.13 to 1.18
I would really like the option to be be able to skip in smaller steps, at least steps of 0.01, I know this is possible because Sonique Player used to have much smaller speed increments of like 0.003

Can I please also request a setting to change speed/pitch together.

is there anyway to stop the speed reseting to normal each time the video loops, i want to leave it looping in slow motion.

could not find the settings to change, any1 know the exact wording of setting to change pitch/speed.

Can audio speed stop resetting to normal after playing a new file?

2. A way to keep the speed setting between closing and reopening the application

I didn't find anything in Preferences related to speed of playback. Any ideas?

Will you please give specific instructions on how to adjust the rate in the preferences. I want to adjust the rate to exactly -1.82% of the original speed. If that's possible, how can I do that? If it's not, what's another video player that will let me do that? Is there a plugin somewhere that will allow that?

I think the cleanest way to do speed control would be to add another toolbar button to VLC (in the interface customizer); this button would pop up a slider bar with 1x speed in the middle, 0 (paused) on the left, and the maximum playback speed (10x?) on the right. Dragging the slider left would slow the video down, dragging it right would speed the video up. You could also show an editable textbox with the current speed, so the users can enter precise speeds. Finally, a "Lock Speed" checkbox that makes that speed permanent in VLC until unchecked (even if VLC is restarted).
