Problem with 2.1.2 (intel) that works with 2.0.9 (PPC)

Postby keybounce » 05 Feb 2014 05:02

I have a disk that works perfectly on my PPC with 2.0.9, but behaves badly with my intel and 2.1.2.

Disk: "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time"

Problem: On the Intel (Macbook pro, early 2011 model, if it matters), I see little squares like the video is not fully decoded/decompressed.

The issue: The PPC (iBook G4) cannot play a DVD faster than about 120%, and sometimes has trouble keeping up with that speed. I like VLC because it can play back movies at faster pace for faster viewing, but here it is just failing.

Hello,

Please update to VLC 2.1.3 which was released last night. It's only available on www.videolan.org right now and will be made available through the internal updater within the next few days. It includes a fix for this kind of DVD playback issues.

Thanks for the report!
