Firefox Plugin Question (npvlc.dll)

Postby Neilium » 06 Jan 2014 17:17

Hi folks! :)

(I'm running a PC with Win7x64 and 8 GB RAM.)

I use Firefox (latest version 26.0) as my default browser, and I check my plugins daily.
Yesterday I got the message that VLC v2.10 was out of date and vulnerable, so I updated to your latest version 2.12.

I still get the error message about VLC being out of date and vulnerable, so I checked under the hood.
It seems that the file "npvlc.dll" is dated 12-08-13 and stuck at version 2.1.0.0.

Do you have a current/newer version of "npvlc.dll" that I can download?

Thanks in advance! :)

The information from Firefox about the newest version of VLC being vulnerable is wrong again. See an older thread about the same problem : https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=113077

Sorry, maybe it's a language problem, but I don't understand what you mean. Please clarify what you're advising me to do.

It looks like you're telling me not to install (or re-install) VLC 2.1.3 (which I've already done) but to install the plug-in? But that gets installed by enabling that option during installation of VLC 2.1.3. Is there some other independent way?

Bonjour Jean-Baptiste.
C'est vrai que le plugin VLC est trop souvent annoncé comme vulnérable dans FF... :(
C'est encore le cas avec la version 2.1.5...
Dommage.

TRUE! VLC 2.1.5 plugin is obsolete in FF 33.1.
