Flowplayer, 200 Stream not found

Postby talbot » 05 Jan 2014 13:59

I'm trying to play a local file in VLC and have it stream to http so I can watch it in the browser window all on the same machine. If it works via the network that's an added bonus, but one step at a time. I've been Googling for hours, trying different command line and GUI combos from the wiki and old tutorials. I can sometimes get it to work, but one error plagues me, in the http interface with the video player showing it always says, "200, Stream not found, NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound, clip: '[Clip] 'http://localhost:8081/stream.flv''. Any browser, any filetype, any setting, no errors in Messages, logs aren't being made even when I force the issue, and other than that all the http interface buttons work fine. I'd love some help if anyone has a minute. I've been looking and tweaking for hours and can't find anything that's related to what I'm trying to do that mentions anything about this.

Pastebin of the messages window during a run when I'm getting the error.

I Googled that and couldn't find anything about that part of the process that was less than 2 years old and said it was only if you wanted to save it to a file. Or something like dst is the address, port and path of the local network interface on which the server should listen for requests. If no address is given, VLC will listen on all the network interfaces. - wiki.videolan.org; that doesn't make complete sense to me, but all it did was save it to a file. If I'm using the feature incorrectly I couldn't find any better information. Roughly 4 hours trying different cli options from documents written around 2005 referencing "wxWindows" and I'm desperate for some help.

I put "/test.mpg" in there just now. The WebUI video panel still gives the "200 Stream not found" error, I can still control the stream with those buttons, I go to http://ip:port/test.mpg and it loads a Quicktime logo indefinitely but no video/audio plays, if I open that URL in VLC it plays fine like a normal stream. I just want to reiterate that I'm trying to play the video in the browser tab, not another VLC window, which seems to be the only thing anything I read will tell me how to do. Here's the new log, only 1 error twolame error: MPEG audio doesn't support frequency=8000 which isn't affecting the playback at all.

I appreciate you taking the time, I'm fairly frustrated.

Any ideas from anyone? Even a link to a more recent how-to would help I'd think. The only thing I can do reliably is create a file that contains the stream. But absolutely nothing works with that http interface player.

Is this just a lost cause?

Don't use vcodec=mp1v but a more recent codec.

Where is this option? And why does it work perfectly streaming to an app on my phone but I receive this error via a web browser? Also why can't I simply stream from one VLC to another?
