If you forget your user name - you are dead!

OK. Maybe not dead, but you are fuc... in trouble.

You cannot send yourself a password reset email if you don't remember your user name. And if you know the email address you used when you registered and your password, you still cannot login nor send yourself a "forgot your username?" email.

For a current user, this isn't a problem. But one who registered years ago to ask a question and leave, to return later... he's in trouble if he cannot remember his username. He will have to use a new account, which most forums frown upon, because since you do not expire inactive accounts, that email address cannot be reused.

Forgetting your username = dead is true.

(Most phpbb boards are not set up this way; this choice should be revisited.)

Why not just keep your password in a safe place like you should do with all your accounts? And like the admin said I'm sure they wont mind to help you out when you can access the forum anymore.
