MP4 files pixelating

Postby Mike89 » 11 Dec 2013 17:33

When playing a lot of my mp4 vids I get pixelation when moving the slider. Seems the player takes a few seconds each time to catch up and during this period the whole screen is pixelated. If I convert said video to avi, I get no pixelation at all during moving the slider.

These are vids I've downloaded with .mp4 extension. I don't know how to tell which codec they are using. Latest VLC version 2.1.2 (but this has happened with previous version of VLC too).
