One of your Bluray revoked your software. There is nothing to do but finding new certs.

I get this error:
Blu-Ray error:
Your system AACS decoding library does not work. Missing keys?
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///E:/'. Check the log for details.
Using Win 8 64-bit, 64-bit versions of VLC and the .dll
Here's the kicker; I have Blu-rays and they all work... Well all but one, the newest, Wreck-It Ralph.
I assume this is some DRM thing? Will the people who made the last KEYDB.CFG make a new one as the keys change?

Yes. You need someone to find a more recent key.

Is there any particular way to find new certs? Or am I pretty much screwed until someone much smarter than I finds or creates them?

Does anyone know where you can find an updated version of they KEYDB file?

I recently aquired Skyfall on Blu-Ray and VLC doesn't play it however it does play my older movies like Tron Legacy.

Same problem here. A new keydb file would be nice.

Has there been any new information on this? Any new solutions?? I have a Win 7, 64 bit (I think my VLC is 32 bit?) Rincewind or something. I have had my Asus-bluray player for a while, but it hasn't been in use because I haven't had any bluray that I've watched on my PC. Today I got a (norwegian) bluray, but it doesn't work. I am getting all these messages that other have been troubled with.

So I have tried downloading those two files that were suppose to go into those folders, both 32 and 64 bit I have tried. But it doesn't work. The Blurway disk has the bluray mark on it and it was identified as blurway on the PS3 (and played fine)

But I need to have it work on my PC because of reasons. The Bluray I tried is spanking new, btw if that has anything to say.

I need help! :(

(my vlc doesnt make a log file, so i can only see it in that debug window but I cant copy paste from it, so the only thing i can copy paste is this info: No valid processing key found in AACS config file."

edit: i uninstalled vlc and installed a 64 bit vlc, and tried both the 32 bit and 64 bit of that file, but still the same issues. however i got a log text now.

"-- logger module started --
libbluray: First play: 1, Top menu: 1
HDMV Titles: 12, BD-J Titles: 0, Other: 0
main error: open of `bluray:///E:/' failed
-- logger module started --
libbluray: First play: 1, Top menu: 1
HDMV Titles: 12, BD-J Titles: 0, Other: 0
main error: open of `bluray:///E:/' failed
-- logger module stopped --

libbluray: First play: 1, Top menu: 1
HDMV Titles: 12, BD-J Titles: 0, Other: 0
main error: open of `bluray:///E:/' failed

"

Yeah not very informative.

Also, I tried a Bluray from 2011 that I haven't tested yet. I got the same issues.

I tried a solution that worked for me. After toiling away on a stupid trial for Corel WinDVD (that stated it has record function but it doesn't work for me) anyway.

I have already done that previous thing with the two files, one in the roaming folder etc and the vlc directory, so I just left these incase they helped.

I downloaded the free verison of DVDfav Passkey. It's kalled Passkey lite and it's free! Using that, VLC can play bluray! Just let the Passkey "run" first when you play a bluray. I tried one bluray from 2011 and one from 2013, that is spanking new.

I then opened VLC and "opened media" etc the normal way. :) Hope this helps others!

After reading all the previous posts I am pretty sure I have done everything correct, but I still cannot play any Blu Ray disc of mine. I am running Windows 7 and version 2.1.0.

After starting the BluRay, I don't get the AACS license message, but I still get the
"Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///E:/'. Check the log for details."

Any help out there for me?

Thanks

I had the same issue. I got the exact same message, it wasn't until after all these trials and errors that I got any other sort of message. But if you've done that whole issue with the two files, just leave them as they are. I don't know if they help at all - but try the free version of DVDfab Passkey, the free version is called DVDfab Passkey lite. Let it run in the background, and when you use a bluray disc, let the Passkey "scan" it first, then "open media" in VLC. This did the trick for me.

Honestly, bluray discs must be the bigget joke of the century. What is the point when they are so protected, a person needs to dig through the entire internet to find a way to play it? lol insane. Someone really dropped the ball on that one.

Anyway hope it helped!

Try AnyDVD HD. Else, maybe Passkey works.

There's a new host certificate posted to the Doom9 forums. So it's possible decrypt bluray's again with out third party tools.

i tried this DVDFab PassKey and after installing it, my dvd and bluray drives didnt appear anymore in windows explorer or vlc. i tried uninstalling it, but it didnt help. after checking device manager and the microsoft forums, i found out it was because it messed up the Device configurations in the registry. for anyone having similar problems, heres a fixit tool: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dv ... roblems/de

Edit:
im still not able to play my blu rays with vlc (Only God Forgives & Django unchained).
they only work about every 5th time with powerDvd10, which is why im searching for an alternative.

heres the debug:

ive tried both vl 2.0.4 and the latest version(2.1.2) with the aacs dll & Keydb in place
im a bit afraid to try anyDvd as my pc just recovered from the dvdfab passkey mess

Hello,

I overviewed whole discussion.

I have following problems:
I'm using Win 8 64bit

When I try to play BD movie with VLC 32 bit - it crashes.

I tried to install VLC 64 bit (it uses different directory - is it normal?)
And when i try to run BD movie in this version I have the error, that I need a BD+ codec library (???)

Of course - I copied the files to desired folders.

May this be a problem, that now I have both 32 bit and 64 bit of VLC installed?
