Blackmagic/Camtwist and 2.1.x VLC needs 32bit

Postby SquishedSquirrel » 14 Nov 2013 16:55

The Blackmagic Intensity drivers only present capture devices in VLC if VLC is set to launch in 32bit. As of 2.1, I don't see a 32/64 bit version. If I want to use the later versions on VLC, will I have to compile my own to get a 32bit version?

The same goes for CamTwist. VLC can't see the camtwist capture device unless it is run in 32bit.

Sorry, we do not support 32 Bits anymore. And you will not be able to compile the current Mac interface code for 32 Bit (without doing several patches). You should ask to the driver authors to update their software for 64 Bit.

Thanks for the reply. Under 10.6, the capture drivers are 32bit, but from what I have read, they are 64bit in the drivers for 10.7 and later. I was hoping to stay with 10.6 on my media mac as several things break, or don't work as well under 10.7 and later (Front Row for example)
