File order/Folder

Postby robwoods » 04 Nov 2013 21:11

I want to open a VLC play session by opening a folder in Windows (X/P)

I set the order of the files via a chosen attribute - I see the proper order - ie the order I want to listen to

I choose 'open' via a 'folder.'

The VLC then starts to play according to the original - not even shown - but the order which will open up when using 'my computer.'

Is there any way to re-order a file list which will then be respected by VLC for playing?

Either you make the file names sort naturally, or you write a playlist file.

Thanks - but it does bring up the question from your "make the file names sort naturally"

- what is the way files are sorted 'naturally?'

Please excuse the request for 'spoon feeding' but could you point me to where one finds those rules for XP? Thanks!
