Configuration Help: Windows XP Pro, ATi Radeon All-In-Wonder

Postby ScottKin » 27 Sep 2005 13:13

Hello!

I've read through most of the posts here in the "sout" forum and I'm still scratching my head.

I have an ATi Radeon All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro, which should be 100% DirectShow compliant. I try to set things up with VLC so I can stream the TV video to my other PC in the same room on my LAN, and the only thing I get on the audio on the receiving PC is a "chirp" or "thud" every second or so - the video is passable but has occasional stutters.

Messages I'm getting indicate something up with the audio stream:

mpgatofixed32 debug: libmad error: bad main_data_begin pointer
main debug: audio output is starving (354025), playing silence
main warning: output date isn't PTS date, requesting resampling (-42267)
main warning: computed PTS is out of range (319646), clearing out
main warning: PTS is out of range (280545), dropping buffer
main warning: output PTS is out of range (351573), clearing out
main debug: audio output is starving (422959), playing silence

I'm using UDP, aimed at the IP of the PC I'm wanting to watch the stream on

Encapsulation is, of course, MPEG TS

Transcoding is set for:

Video - DIV3 1024kb/s Scale 1
Audio - mp3 192kb/s Channels=2

In the finalization of the setup. When I get to AudioInputMixer, the Pin Line is set to "Desktop Microphone" (which seems odd to me)

Crossbar screen 1 shows:

Input Output

0: Video Composite In 0: Video Composit Out

Current Input:

0: Video Composite In

Related Pin: Related Pin

3. Audio Line In 3. Audio Decoder Out

Crossbar screen 2 shows:

Input Output

1: Video Tuner In 1: Video Decoder Out

Current Input:

1: Video Tuner In

Related Pin: Related Pin:

-1: Mute In 1: Unknown Out

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like some very funky routing, and could account for the weird, bliping audio

Anyone?

Ok - for some reason now, I have access to the actual configuration for the audio device, instead of having it say "Default" it now correctly shows the "SB Live! Audio [B800]".

Now, I'm actually able to hear audio - but it sounds like HELL!!!!

I can adjust the audiomixer properties now for the Pin Line Input, but I am totally unable to change the Master Input Mix settings. The audio I'm hearing on the receiving PC is waaaaaay too hot - very distorted.

Why am I not able to access the Master Input Mix settings?
